| Anita Spring was destined to become an entertainer. The daughter of touring musicians, Spring grew up seeing her jazz vocalist and bass playing father perform with many influential Australia musicians. Spring has been performing and singing since she was two years old. By the time she was 15, Spring's musical career was forging ahead and she was performing 8 shows a week in 'Elvis-the musical' at the Footbridge Theatre in Sydney. Many other musical roles followed including a lead role in the 'Revolution will not be televised' at the Seymore Theatre in Sydney and 'Bad boy Jonny' at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney where she worked alongside Doc Neason (The Angels), Chris Bailey (The Saints) and Christine Anu. Later, Spring would team up again with Anu as her backing singer touring nationally and internationally. This lead to other opportunities as a backing vocalist for other Australian acts including Powderfinger. Highly inspired to be a recording artist, Spring began writing her own music and at a chance meeting after a performance with Powderfinger at the 1999 ARIA awards, Spring was signed to Universal Music. During this time, Spring travelled to London and wrote with many artists including Gary Kemp (Spandau Ballet), Trevor Steel & John Holiday (Escape Club) and Billy Burnette (Fleetwood Mac). In 2003, Blink, the first single from Spring's album 'Paris can wait' that was recorded in George Martin's Air Studios in London, climbed to number 7 on the ARIA Australian Singles Charts and reached the national Top 40. Spring continues to tour, highlights for her include the prestigious Blue Note in Nagoya-Japan and a sell out New Year's Eve show in Hong Kong in 2009. Spring is currently writing for her next studio album which will comprise of original tunes only, keep an eye and an ear out for it in early 2012!
